What is The PHOENIX Divorce Framework™? A Complete Guide for Women Navigating Divorce
Divorce is one of the most disorienting experiences a person can walk through. Not just because of the legal process, although that is complex and exhausting, but because of what it does to every other dimension of your life at the same time.
Everything shifts all at once. Your finances. Your identity. Your social life. Your plans for the future. And many times, women are offered a stack of legal documents and left to figure out the emotional, practical and deeply personal wreckage entirely on their own.
I went through my divorce and had everything turned upside down when I had a 2-year old son and a 6-year old daughter at home with me, and it threw us into survival mode for years.
I built the PHOENIX Divorce Framework™ because after climbing out of survival mode on my own, I started coaching people through divorce, and I kept seeing the patterns of loss and complete overwhelm repeat again and again. I knew there had to be a better way to help people navigate this massive shift in their lives from both a practical and an emotional standpoint.
Over ten years of coaching women through divorce and post-divorce rebuilding, I identified seven distinct areas of the journey that everyone navigates in their own way and on their own timeline. I called them pillars. And together, they form a complete framework for growing through divorce, not just surviving it.
Here is what each pillar means, and why it matters.
What Is the PHOENIX Divorce Framework?
The PHOENIX Divorce Framework is a 7-pillar methodology designed to meet women wherever they are in the divorce process , whether they are mid-divorce or post-divorce, and walk them through every dimension of rebuilding. The practical decisions. The emotional weight. The identity questions. And the vision for what comes next.
Each letter in PHOENIX represents one pillar of the journey. Together they form a complete map, from the earliest days of survival through the full expansion into your next chapter.
The framework is non-linear by design. You don't have to start at P and work your way through to X in order. You start where you are. That is always the right place.
The Seven Pillars of PHOENIX
P — Preservation
Divorce asks you to make important decisions before you feel ready. The Preservation pillar is about protecting what matters most in the earliest stages, things like your finances, documentation of any incidents, your children's stability, and your own dignity.
Most women enter the divorce process unprepared for its complexity. Preservation gives you a foundation of clarity and organization so you can make decisions from a grounded place rather than a reactive one.
H — Healing
Healing is not a phase you complete. It is a thread woven through every stage of this journey.
This pillar creates honest, supported space for the emotional truth of divorce: the grief, the fear, the uncertainty, the losses that no one else seems to acknowledge. It provides trauma-informed tools to help you stay grounded and regulated so you can function, make decisions, and move forward even while you are still feeling the weight of it all.
O — Orientation
Confusion amplifies fear. And most women going through divorce are profoundly confused about the legal process, the timeline, the roles of the people involved, and what to realistically expect.
The Orientation pillar provides process clarity. It walks you through the general stages of divorce, explains who the key players are and what they do, and helps you set realistic expectations so you can engage with the process from clarity rather than overwhelm.
E — Empowerment
Divorce can silence you. Especially in situations where your confidence has been eroded, your judgment has been questioned, or your communication has been weaponized.
The Empowerment pillar rebuilds your voice strategically, not through motivation, but through concrete communication frameworks, boundary-setting tools, and self-trust rebuilding exercises that work in real situations with real people.
N — Navigating
Divorce restructures relationships. It doesn't end them.
The Navigating pillar addresses the ongoing relational terrain that follows the legal process in areas like co-parenting, communication with a former spouse, rebuilding your social world, and establishing new relational norms with intention and healthy boundaries.
I — Identity Rebuild
This is often the most disorienting and least discussed aspect of divorce. When a marriage ends, it doesn't just dissolve a legal contract. It dismantles roles, routines, financial identities, and personal narratives that may have been built over years or decades.
The Identity Rebuild pillar guides you through the process of disentangling who you are from who you were in the marriage. This stage helps in rediscovering your values, your strengths, and the woman you are becoming.
X — Expansion
Expansion is where survival becomes intentional living.
This pillar is about designing what comes next with clarity, intention, and the full strength of everything you have walked through. Long-term life design, financial independence, relational readiness, joy reclaimed. The Phoenix rising - not from the absence of pain, but through the integration of it.
Who Is the PHOENIX Framework For?
The PHOENIX Divorce Framework was designed for women who are navigating divorce, whether they are in the middle of the legal process or rebuilding in its aftermath.
It meets you wherever you are. A woman in week two of the legal process needs Preservation and Healing. A woman eighteen months post-divorce who still doesn't feel like herself needs Identity Rebuild and Expansion. There is no wrong place to start.
The framework is also designed for women who want more than tips and inspiration. It is structured, practical, and grounded in real experience, built from both personal experience and over a decade of walking alongside women through one of the hardest seasons of their lives.
